Sightseeing then Distillery Tour
Moray is the official administrative area and Speyside is more or less the same area associated with whisky. The River Spey runs like an artery through Moray and you will often see the area called Moray Speyside.
Moray is a great holiday destination. You can spend some time exploring the Moray area in the morning and then in the afternoon visit a distillery or two. We can take you on a bespoke tour of Moray based around your interests. Explore the coastal towns and beautiful beaches.
A popular stop is Brodie Castle a 16th century castle. Findhorn is a destination in itself with its characterful houses and the Findhorn Foundation. Spend some time on the coast and you might be lucky enough to see the Moray Firth Dolphins. Slightly Inland there's Moray's capital city, Elgin with its ruined but striking Cathedral. There's the Bible Garden displaying many of the plants mentioned in the bible.
Forres is a traditional market town with a rich history including Sueno's Stone which depicts a Pictish battle scene. Forres has a strong association with witches and William Shakespeare's Macbeth. Flowing through Moray is the fast flowing the River Spey. The Spey and its tributaries supply wonderfully soft water for many distilleries and a visit is recommended for inclusion on your Moray Tour even if you are not a whisky drinker. We also specialise in whisky tours including Speyside Whisky Tours.
Ballindalloch Castle is set deep in Speyside and there's also Pluscarden Abbey which was once set on fire by the Wolf of Badenoch. From its beaches to its distilleries to its historic sites Moray has a lot to offer.
Highland Highlights
Moray is ideally located for exploring the Inverness area. If you are interested in visiting the Clava Cairns and Culloden then we can put together visits to Clava Cairns, then Culloden, Cawdor Castle/Brodie Castle and then Benromach Distillery.
