There are about 18 golf courses in Moray and Speyside. An impressive total for a small region with a population of about 97, 000.
The main golf courses in Moray are Hopeman, Covesea Links (9 hole), Moray (Old and New Courses), Garmouth & Kingston, Spey Bay, Buckpool, Strathlene and Cullen. These are mainly coastal/links courses. Further inland we find Forres, Kinloss, Elgin and Maverston golf clubs. Moving deeper inland we find Rothes (9 hole), Dufftown, Keith and Ballindalloch.
We do even better when it comes to whisky distilleries with over 50 distilleries in the area. Quite a few of them are open to visitors. From famous names Like Macallan & Glenlivet, to perhaps less familiar names like Benromach, Cragganmore and Glen Moray.
The region is ideal for a Golf and Whisky Tour. Enjoy a game of golf in the morning followed by a distillery visit or two in the afternoon.
